Regency Hospital Company is committed to being the finest LTAC hospital company in the United States. One way this is achieved is through our Partners in Practice program which seeks to change the way LTAC hospitals provide care. This new clinical excellence initiative is unprecedented in the industry.
- Regency is the first to approach a true synergy model driven by the needs of the patient.
- Regency is partnering with every clinician to provide over 40 hours of didactic training annually in conjunction with our partner Med Ed Inc. (a consulting firm sanctioned by AACN).
- Regency is partnering with our physicians to teach and mentor staff.
- Regency is the first to have a proprietary Critical Care Course to address the specific critical care needs of our LTAC patient population.
- This unique course is designed to train the clinician from novice to expert in three modules:
- Module I - prepares the nurse for the Med/Surg Certification Exam
- Module II - prepares the nurse for the Progressive Care Certification (PCCN)
- Module III - prepares the nurse for the Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification Exam
- Regency is partnering with our primary vendors to assure appropriate training on all equipment used on our patients. Every vendor will train superusers to “Train the Trainer” in all of our hospitals.
- Regency has dedicated a full-time position to a clinical educator. This position will have a dotted line to the corporate office and has a critical care background. This person is accessible to the staff and is responsible for managing the training for all clinicians.
- Regency provides CEUs for this course for all nursing personnel.
- Regency has secured on-line reference material.
- Regency has secured an on-line education service to focus on education for nursing assistants, nurses and other clinicians and non-clinicians. This service also offers CEUs and contact hours for staff.
- Regency has established a Clinical Ladder for all nursing personnel completing the course with monetary incentives for completion and certification.
The results of this program have had a dramatic effect on our patients and the outcomes that they receive. By implementation of this program it is our goal to achieve the following:
- Increase Regency’s Case Mix Index (CMI) to treat the most medically complex patients who need this specialized acute care.
- Produce greater clinical outcomes for our patients, allowing more to go home than ever thought possible.
- Become known as an Educational Center of Clinical Excellence for LTAC hospitals.
- Be a hospital where physicians will send their sickest patients due to the confidence they have in Regency’s ability to provide the finest LTAC hospital care available.
